Our Charity of Choice: Angel Feathers Children's Closet
Angel Feathers Children’s Closet is a nonprofit initiative founded by Bo and Libby Fant in November 2025 located at the Middle Tyger Community Center, Lyman, South Carolina. The project was created in memory of their parents, aiming to provide essential clothing items to children and kinship families in need.
The closet maintains a comprehensive inventory of clothing, coats, gloves, scarves, mittens, etc. to ensure items available in all sizes—ranging from infants to adult XXXL – for those in need.
The most cherished gifts are those handmade with love, offering comfort and warmth to another person. There is nothing more reassuring than being wrapped in a beautiful scarf or hat crafted with care.
Together, stitches and service strengthen our community, making a difference one child and one handmade item at a time.
Join us this year as we knit for Angel Feathers Children's Closet! Crochet is also welcome!
On the porch of the Palmetto Yarn Shoppe, you can find patterns and yarn that has been donated for charity knitting. We will have some kits available at the guild meeting. If you have any questions or suggestions, please contact us. We are always in search of new and fun patterns for items, also.
With our weather now, you can pretty much choose your item, be it a hat, cowl, or scarf, fingerless mitts, socks, headbands, or even larger items like sweaters & cardigans are welcome,
Thankfully yours,
Jenny
